HRDS India has sacked gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh from the role of CSR director. HRDS has informed that Swapna has been sacked as the probe affects functioning of the organization. The decision is also based on the interest communicated by Swapna, it added.

Swapna Suresh took charge at the Palakkad office in February 2022. She was appointed with HRDS India after her jail term ended. It is learnt that she was paid Rs 43,000 as salary.

Meanwhile, in the wake of Swapna’s revelations targeting CM Pinarayi Vijayan in the case, CPM had alleged that she was acting on the direction of HRDS which is allegedly associated with RSS. Though HRDS refuted the allegations, they are still on the limelight.

It may be noted that HRDS India apparently provided legal aid to Swapna and the Palakkad office became venue of her media interactions multiple times.

HRDS India has sacked Swapna after four months. Last week Swapna had shifted to Kochi. She maintained that she was working in online mode.

KG Venugopal, RSS loyalist and vice president of HRDS India had earlier endorsed Swapna’s claim that CM, his family members and other influential officials have links to the case. He had said that he is not aware whether Swapna has evidence to prove, but the claims she made “sounds factual only”.
