Ambulance attender arrested in bid to sexually assault Covid patient in Perinthalmanna
Perinthalmanna: An ambulance attender was arrested by the police when he attempted to sexually assault a Covid patient inside an ambulance when she was being taken for scanning.
Perinthalmanna DySP K J Devasaya-led team arrested Shankaramangalam Prashanth (33) who is residing in a rented place at Kolathur. The incident happened on April 27.
A 38-year-old woman, a native of Vandoor, was sexually attacked when she was taken to the Perinthalmanna hospital for Covid treatment. The complaint stated that she was sexually assaulted while being taken for scanning. She was in a very complicated state due to Covid. She was undergoing treatment at the Vandoor Govt hospital after suffering pneumonia. The victim narrated the tale to the doctors here who inturn informed the Vandoor police. The Vandoor police passed on the matter to the Perinthalmanna police and they arrested the culprit.
