Yusuf, the affected student’s father, said that school authorities turned blind to an accident that happened just 200 metres away from the school.

“The bus staffers don’t even console the kid who was in trauma,” he said.

The safety of a student is important and even after the mishap, the school authorities have not informed us, he said.

“ We have paid Rs 15,000 donation, term fees, bus fee and allied fees for the child’s admission. This kind of negligence cannot be entertained," he added.

Meanwhile, police have arrested the bus driver over the complaint filed by the student’s family. District collector Dr Renu Raj has directed the deputy director of education and the SHO concerned to probe the matter in detail and submit the report. Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights also registered a case after receiving the complaint.
