Man vandalises hotel after owner refuses to pay 'goonda tax' in Aluva


Aluva: In an unfortunate incident, a hotel near the KSRTC garage here was vandalised for allegedly refusing to pay 'goonda tax'.

The incident happened at around 1 am on Wednesday. According to the shop owner Sakthivel, a Tamil Nadu native, a man approached the shop in the morning and demanded Rs 200 to buy petrol for his bike.

When the owner refused, the stranger tried to assault him. Finally, the owner agreed to pay the amount and asked the person to share his phone number. Irked with this, the stranger entered the shop and threw out food items at the shop.

Shocked with this, Sakthivel closed his shop and left for home. But during this time, the person returned to the shop and vandalised it.

However, police have managed to collect the CCTV footage to identify the attacker.
