All liquor outlets including toddy shops to remain shut amid lockdown, says CM
Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of lockdown declared in Kerala as part of COVID-19 precautions, all liquor outlets including bars, toddy shops and BEVCO outlets will be closed down, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
He was speaking at a press meet after coronavirus evaluation meet.
Strict action will be taken against people wandering outside unnecessarily. Only essential travel and services will be allowed, he added.
Meanwhile, CM will be holding press briefings through video conferencing from Thursday as part of social distancing.
The total number of coronavirus positive cases in Kerala rose to 112 on Wednesday.
Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that the total number of COVID-19 positive cases rise to 606 in India (including 553 active cases, 42 cured/discharged people and 10 deaths).
