Kollam: All passengers who came from Abu Dhabi to Thiruvananthapuram will be tested for COVID-19 virus. Three among these passengers boarded the flight from Abu Dhabi hiding the fact that they were COVID-19 positive. The samples of their co- passengers will be tested. The passengers of the flight as well as the passengers of the bus in which they travelled to Kollam will be tested.
45 people returned to Kollam district from Abu Dhabi. Out of these, 40 people are under quarantine in Kottarakkara. A few pregnant women have been quarantined in their respective homes as well. All of their samples will be tested.
The three Kollam natives were COVID positive when they landed in Kerala. One of their co-passengers overheard them discussing this matter when they were on their way to the quarantine facility in a KSRTC bus. This co- passenger immediately informed police about this.
The health department suspects that other passengers could have contracted the virus from these passengers. As a result of this, samples of all the passengers will be tested on Tuesday and Wednesday.
