Alapuzha: Apple has listed a native of Alappuzha in its prestigious Hall of Fame for finding a major security flaw in the iCloud server. K.S Ananthakrishnan, son of Krishna Kumar, is the genius who made his way to this achievement. He is a final year B.Techcomputer science student at Mount Zion engineering college in Pathanamthitta.
After identifying the security flaw in the iCloud server, Ananthakrishnan immediately informed the Apple engineers, and they fixed it. But, he pointed out that it only provided security for new accounts and reported that old accounts are still under threat. The issue will be resolved soon.
Apart from giving a hall of fame membership, Apple also provided a $ 2500 cash prize to the youngster.
Ananthakrishnan has also received hall of fame memberships from companies like Facebook and GitHub.
The B.Tech student who was researching ethical hacking from Class 12 is also a member of the Kerala police cyber dome.
His mother Sreeja Krishnakumar is working as a teacher in Fr.Thomas Porukara central school, Champakulam. He also has a sister Gauri Parvathi.
