Alappuzha: A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a differently-abled woman in Nooranad here. Pranav, the arrestee, is accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting the woman while she was walking to her house on Tuesday evening around 6.30.
Natives who saw the woman's belongings, including her mobile phone, informed her relatives. Her relatives conducted a search for her and found her. Pranav had already fled the scene. They then took her to a hospital and approached the police.
Pranav stopped the woman while she was returning to her house and dragged her to an isolated location. He then took her to his house and assaulted her, police said.
He was quickly nabbed and was taken for evidence collection.
