Alappuzha couple electrocuted to death; suicide suspected

Cherthala: A couple in Mayithara, Alappuzha district were electrocuted to death. The deceased have been identified as Haridas, former telephone exchange employee and his wife Shyamala.

They were found dead in the shed near the house. The bodies were lying on a mat entwined in wires. A switchboard was also found near the bodies.

The preliminary assumption is that the couple committed suicide. However, police have not confirmed the matter yet. They are planning to gather more details from relatives.

It is learnt that the couple did not have any financial crisis and have a daughter named Bhagya.
