Kannur: Dharmadam police have taken a few students of Palayad campus of Kannur University, including their leader Alan Shuhaib, in custody over a complaint of ragging, on Wednesday.
Alan, who was charged with UAPA the controversial maoist-link case of Kozhikode's Pantheerankavu, alleged that the ruling CPM-affiliated SFI is taking revenge on him for complaining about a ragging incident from last year in which the SFI leaders were the accused.
According to the fresh complaint, Alan, Badarudheen and Nishad, members of Vidyarthi Aikya Munnani, ragged the first year LLB students. The complainants are SFI members.
According to police, the students were taken into custody for questioning about the complaint.
Alan alleged that SFI is trying to cancel his bail in the Pantheerankavu case by slapping him with multiple cases.
