Alan and Thaha reiterate CPM loyalty, asks CM to produce evidence against them
Kochi: Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal, who were arrested in connection with alleged Maoists links from Kozhikode and slapped with UAPA case, reiterated that they are not Maoists but CPM workers. They claim that both of them have worked as CPM booth agents during the last election. The NIA Court, that remanded Alan and Thaha till February 14, will consider their custody plea on Friday.
They were produced before the court for the first time since being taken into custody by NIA. They voiced their innocence while coming out of the court.
“The Chief Minister will have to release the evidence if he claims that we are Maoists. We were CPM booth agents during the last election. We have worked only for CPM” they said while speaking to the media.
Both of them will be shifted to the Thrissur high security prison on Friday.
