Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala state police chief has issued an order to hand over the probe into the AKG centre attack to Crime Branch. The probe team will be headed by the Crime Branch chief.

The DGP has taken the move after the Special Investigation Team of Police failed to trace any hint on the accused.

AKG centre, the CPM state committee office was attacked with explosives on June 30. As police failed to nab the accused behind the attack, the opposition alleged that CPM plotted the attack to divert public attention from the gold smuggling case.

Meanwhile, the forensic team confirmed that something similar to crackers was used for the attack.
