Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch team probing the AKG Centre attack case has informed that three suspects are under their surveillance. The investigation revolving around the Youth Congress activists has revealed new trails in the case.

The Crime Branch investigation has been ongoing for more than a month. The probe team had questioned a few Youth Congress activists and others including a law college student in Kazhakkoottam and Menamkulam areas. The probe team sensed something suspicious after a few of them has given contradictory statements. It is hinted that there are clues on the mastermind behind the attack and that he fled to another country.

The lack of solid evidence has left the investigation to proceed at a slow pace. All who are suspected of having links with the attack and the conspiracy behind it are being closely observed. The probe team has strengthened the investigation by focusing on mobile phone details and CCTV footage.

The attack on the AKG Centre took place on June 30 at 11.30 pm.

Soon after the attack on the AKG centre, CPM had alleged that it was a bomb attack and Congress operated the crime. The investigation was handed over to Crime Branch by the end of July after the police investigation failed to make any headway.
