Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary MV Govindan asserted that Akash Thillankeri is part of a criminal gang, and the party is not obliged to respond to his remarks. The party advised its workers not to react to his provoking comments on social media platforms.
Meanwhile, police have not yet arrested Akash even after registering a case under non-bailable charges following a complaint lodged by a DYFI woman leader.
“I have nothing to comment regarding a person who works for a criminal group in the locality. The party knows how to resolve these issues. All these allegations have to be considered as regional matters,” said MV Govindan.
The state secretary’s statements affirming the criminal links of Akash came up following MV Jayarajan’s remarks citing him as a ‘quotation king’.
Though he is on the run, he and his friend Jijo Thillankeri took up Facebook to post comments, including those alleging CPM was behind criminal cases they were involved in the past.
