Kannur: There is a false pretence that Akash Thillankeri is the face of the party in the Thillankeri locality, says P Jayarajan, former Kannur CPM party secretary, while attending a public meeting on Monday.
"It is the media which says Akash and his gang are the faces of CPM in Thillankeri. The party has 37 branches and 520 party members in Thillankeri. They are the face of the party. The leadership in Thillankeri has a political heritage. The leadership has the capability to face any adverse situation. Some are trying to suppress the communist party by attacking it," said P Jayarajan.
Meanwhile, party leadership does not hesitate to mention Akash Thillankeri's name during the meeting. The leaders criticized the action of Akash and dismissed his allegations. CPM local secretary Shaji alleged that some are trying to create a riot.
Apart from P Jayarajan, Kannur district secretary MV Jayarajan and Akash's father, Raveendran, attended the public meeting.
Last week, Akash made controversial remarks in the social media posts of CPM leaders in Thillankeri. His revelations, including that of the Shuhaib murder case, placed CPM in a tough spot.
