AK Balan alleges vote trade between Congress, BJP in Palakkad
Palakkad: Minister AK Balan on Friday alleged that Congress and BJP were involved in vote trade in all the constituencies in the district in the Assembly elections on April 6. The Congress and BJP engaged in a pact in Ottappalam, Nenmara and Thrithala, and that Malampuzha and Palakkad are examples for the same.
A section of Congress members are against Shafi Parambil and they took a stance in favour of BJP’s E Sreedharan. No matter what LDF will retain its nine seats in the district and will increase the vote share, Balan claimed.
Sreedharan entered the electoral fray at the age of 88 expecting victory. This is because of the assurance from Congress. He was compelled to say that either himself or Oommen Chandy will become the chief minister. Normally, no BJP candidate will say that a Congress leader will become the CM, he said.
All this was part of conspiracy to win Palakkad and Malampuzha constituencies. The Congress and BJP had a secret pact. The undercurrents between them was clear, he further alleged.
