Kochi: Permission for shooting movies starring Joju George will only be given after consulting with the Congress party, Thrikkakara Municipality chairperson Ajitha Thankappan said on Wednesday. She was speaking to Mathrubhumi.com on the controversy over the allegation that she denied permission for a film shooting in the municipality.
Ajitha had heated exchanges with a film crew of a Sathyan Anthikad movie. However, she refuted the allegation that she denied permission for shooting.
"I just expressed my displeasure as a Congress worker. My fellow workers protested for the people. Joju got them arrested. They are in the police station, like criminals, bearing mosquito bites," she said.
The crew members of the Sathyan Anthikkad movie had gone to seek permission for shooting in the Thrikkakara bus stand. "After locking up my colleagues, now you want to shoot film? How dare you to ask me for permission," she had reportedly asked them.
"I responded in harsh language thinking it was Joju's movie. When I realised it is not, I accepted the application. I had told them that they will get permission. After all, they too have been suffering for the last two years," Ajitha told Mathrubhumi.com.
