Mattannur: Kannur International Airport witnessed a decrease in the number of passengers recently. Only 90,494 persons travelled via Kannur airport in October. While the airport recorded the number of passengers as 1,11,692 in August and 96,673 in September.
A steep decline has been observed in the number of domestic passengers. The number of domestic passengers in August dropped from 37,322 to 28,022 in October.
A single company has been carrying out most of the domestic flight services from Kannur airport. Hence, several passengers have already raised complaints over the comparatively expensive ticket costs here.
The airport authorities expect a rise in passenger traffic as the Air India Express launched new services in Jeddah and Dubai sectors this month.
