Thiruvananthapuram: An AICC monitoring team, led by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, will reach Kerala on Friday to initiate the election preparations. The team will take part in the KPCC leadership meet after holding talks with the UDF alliance leaders.

The 5-member team will meet the leaders of the alliance on an individual basis in the evening and will have dinner together. Discussions will be held on issues which need to be addressed immediately besides election preparation and fundraising.

Meanwhile, the first meeting of the Congress Election Committee headed by Oommen Chandy, will be convened on Saturday. The AICC team will be present for this meeting also. They will also attend the KPCC meeting. The AICC team will return from Kerala after meeting with the senior leaders of the party.

It is reported that the AICC team will return once again to meet community leaders before the election. Congress is expecting a change in the mood of the Kerala camp after making Oommen Chandy the head of Congress Election Committee.
