Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Minister for Industries P Rajeev on Friday rubbished the controversies over the installation of AI cameras in the state.
“The government has not spent a single penny on the project. The contract amount of Rs 256 crore is not just for the cameras. It includes other expenses such as the salaries of 146 employees including data operators and technicians, tax, internet connectivity, and electricity bill among others,” said Rajeev.
“I don’t understand the basis of the allegation claiming the involvement of the chief minister’s kin in the project...If there are any discrepancies in the tender, then let them go to the court,” he said.
The minister also slammed Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala and said the latter had raised serious allegations against the judiciary. Earlier, Chennithala had stated that he had faith in the court but was pained by the high court’s action the other day.
