Kochi: Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan on Saturday said that a corruption of Rs 100 crores took place under the cover of installing AI-assisted surveillance cameras in the state.

Speaking at a press conference here, Satheesan said, “The overall cost of the equipment was estimated to be Rs 57 crore only. However, the amount went up to Rs 151 crore in the final contract.”

“Prakash Babu, the father-in-law of the chief minister’s son, took part in the meeting of the consortium, which was formulated for the subcontracts of the project,” he alleged.

The leader also asserted that Babu was the one who spoke the longest in the meeting and he told the company representatives that this (AI camera installation) was a dream project.
