Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of the reports that some organizations have called for Bharat Bandh on Monday to protest over the contentious Agnipath recruitment scheme pushed by the central government, Kerala police chief Anil Kant IPS has directed the force to beef up security measures to avert violence in the state.

The social media post shared by State Police Media Centre Kerala has pointed out that those attacking public and damaging public property will invite stringent action. Those who resort to violence and forcefully close shops and the establishments will be arrested and they will have to face the legal consequences, it noted.

Anil Kant has urged the police force to be on alert all day. In major places, police will initiate patrolling and picketing from Sunday night itself.
