Students chant Ayyappa mantras to receive teacher who attempted to trek Sabarimala

Agali: The school teacher who attempted to trek Sabarimala has raised a complaint to the principal against the students for allegedly ridiculing her in the classroom by chanting Ayyappa mantra.

Bindu Thankam Kalyani alias T. V. Bindu had attempted to trek Sabarimala following the Supreme Court verdict that allowed women of all ages to enter the temple. Later, she was transferred from Kozhikode Medical College Campus School to Agali Government Vocational Higher Secondary School.

She joined at Agali GVHSS on Monday. When she went to the classroom, the students received her by loudly chanting mantras of Lord Ayyappa. Bindu complained to the principal in this regard on Tuesday morning itself. But as the students repeated the same action on Tuesday also, Bindu gave a written complaint to the principal.

Later, the principal called an assembly of the higher secondary students and explained the situations to them. The school authorities informed that the teacher and students talked to each other and the problems were resolved.
