Thiruvananthapuram: Soon after an upset Ramesh Chennithala sent a letter to Congress party president Sonia Gandhi of the humiliation meted out to him, KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran too forwarded a letter mentioning that he did not contest in the polls even on the insistence of the High Command as he feared ditching within the party.
In an open letter to the High Command, Mullappally alleged that groupism is destroying the party and the party does not allow him to work independently. As he had decided to quit as KPCC president, he did not take part in the UDF meet, he has stated in the letter.
Ramesh Chennithala had written to the party president Sonia Gandhi about the humiliation meted out to him by the High Command while handling the matter.
Chennithala had pointed out in the letter that he would have made way for another leader as Leader of Opposition but was hurt by the way the party leadership handled the matter.
Chennithala also said in the letter that a senior leader like him does not deserve such an ill treatment.
