African swine fever confirmed in Kannur; five pigs of a farm die

Thiruvananthapuram: African swine fever has now been confirmed in Kanichar Grama Panchayat in Kannur.

Another case was reported in Nenmeni in Wayand only a couple of days back. The infection was found on the farm in Kanichar that belongs to a farmer named Manuel.

The samples from pigs were sent for tests after five out of the 100 pigs reared on the farm died suddenly.

On Biju’s farm in Nenmeni, four out of 193 pigs died due to the infection.
