Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri
Kozhikode: Pazhayidom Mohanan Naboothiri has decided not to return to the Kerala State School Kalolsavam festival to prepare food. Following the new controversies over food prepared for the Kalolsavam, Pazhayidom said he was afraid to manage the kitchen and it is difficult to move forward.
“These are times when the poisonous seeds of caste and communalism are sown even in matters relating to diet of teenagers. I am thinking about how to face these matters. These situations are quite disturbing,” he told Mathrubhumi News.
Pazhayidom added that the Kalolsavam kitchens were close to his heart. The controversies are hard to comprehend, he said. Pazhayidom added that he does not think his presence is relevant in the kitchens where eating habits are changing.
As many as two crore children have been fed so far. That happiness is more than enough to live from here on, he said.
Pazhayidom has been preparing food at Kalolsavam stages since 2005. His reaction comes at a time when the controversy related to serving non-veg food at Kalolsavam stages surfaced.
