Mumbai: The Indian Railways has decided to add new AC-3 tier economy coaches on Pune - Kanniyakumari Express (16381/16382) and Mumbai CSMT - Thiruvananthapuram Central Express (16331/16332).
The peculiarity of new AC-3 tier economy coach is that it will offer affordable AC travel with premium features. The fare of the new AC-3 tier economy is 8 per cent less than existing AC-3 tier.
Pune - Kanniyakumari Express (16381/16382) will have two new AC-3 tier coaches from September 22. While Mumbai CSMT - Thiruvananthapuram Central Express (16331/16332) will get two new AC-3 tier coaches from September 17.
With new addition, Mumbai CSMT - Thiruvananthapuram Central Express (16331/16332) will have two AC-2 tier coaches, three AC-3 tier coaches, two AC-3 tier economy coaches, six sleeper class coaches and three general second class coaches.
