Adyanpara Hydel tourism opens to visitors
Nilambur: The Adyanpara tourist circuit under the Kerala Hydel Tourism Centre will be thrown open to visitors on Thursday. Minister Aryadan Muhammed will inaugurate the tourist center, constructed at a cost of Rs. 3 crores, at four in the evening. As a part of this a new 2.5 km long 6 meter wide road has been constructed from the power house to the Mayinpalli area and the underground water storage (surge).
Currently the only tourist attraction in the area is the Adyanpara Waterfalls. As the summer intensifiires and the river dries up the number of visitors falls drastically. A 14 seater battery powered car will now ply the visitors from the power house to Mayinpalli to the upper reaches of the Kanjirapuzha river where she is bunded and her waters diverted for the hydel power project.
The visitors will then be taken to the point where the tunnel ends and the pen stoke pipes start near the surge. The USP of the circuit which will receive visitors from March 15 is that the visitors can view the entire gamut of activities at a hydel plant.
