ADGP Manoj Abraham visiting Rahul Gandhi's office, MP office in Wayanad after attack
Kalpetta: Additional Director General of Police Manoj Abraham arrived in Wayanad on Monday to investigate the lapses from the police in the SFI attack on MP Rahul Gandhi’s office. By evening, he visited the MP's vandalised office in Gautham tower at Kalpetta.
ADGP informed that the government has demanded for a comprehensive report on the attack and this will be submitted soon. ADGP will camp in Wayanad for two days for the investigation. “The investigation has only started now. The visuals of the attack have been collected. Details will be obtained from the witnesses. A comprehensive report will be filed after probing on every aspect, including the damage caused to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi in the office,” said ADGP.
SFI march alleging inaction of Rahul Gandhi MP in the Supreme Court order of declaring one kilometre buffer zone surrounding protected areas, had turned violent on Friday. The SFI activists vandalised the office at Kalpetta, which triggered a series of Congress-led protests all over the state.
An investigating team composing 24 members has been appointed under Kambalakkad Inspector MA Santhosh to probe the attack. This team also arrived at the MP's office on Monday for the probe. All the 29 SFI activists who were taken into custody are in remand now.
Seven Congress workers were booked and released on bail in Kalpetta for hurling stones at the Kalpetta bureau of Deshabhimani daily.
