Actress files plea in HC seeking woman judge for hearing
Kochi: The actress, who faced sexual assault last year, filed a plea in High Court seeking a woman judge for the case hearing.
The Ernakulam principal sessions court had dismissed the same plea last week. Following this, the actress decided to approach the High Court.
The plea was rejected by the principal sessions court showing some constitutional difficulties.
In the present situation, there is no woman judge in Ernakulam. Hence, it is not possible to appoint a new woman judge especially for this matter, the principal sessions court pointed out while rejecting the plea.
The actress filed the plea reasoning that the case deals with a matter of privacy so she needs a woman judge for hearing. The court will consider the plea on Tuesday.
