Actress attack case: Prosecution moves against Dileep’s discharge petition
Kochi: In the controversial actress attack case, the hearing of the discharge petition submitted by actor Dileep, who is the eighth accused in the case, was completed on Wednesday.
The prosecution opposed Dileep’s discharge petition in the court and filed a report with valid documents requesting that Dileep should not be acquitted.
The prosecution asserted that there is sufficient evidence against Dileep to carry out the trial.
The trial court in Kochi will pronounce the verdict related to the discharge petition on January 4. If the court rejects his plea, the actor will have to face the trial.
Dileep moved a discharge petition at the court as part of the trial procedure. Presently, the initial proceedings related to the trial are in progress at the court.
Earlier, the court had asked that details of Dileep’s petition should not be disclosed to the public.
Recently, Dileep and his lawyer examined the digital evidence, which is crucial in the case, at the court. The trail in the case will be held in closed room considering the privacy of the actress.
