Kochi: Actress Manju Warrier appeared before the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court on Tuesday in connection with the re-examination of witnesses in the actress attack case in 2017. The prosecution had requested for Manju Warrier’s re-examination to prove the authenticity of the digital evidence against accused Dileep in the case.
Dileep had filed a plea at the Supreme Court against the prosecution’s demand to re-examine witnesses, including Manju Warrier. Dileep alleged that the reasons cited for requesting Manju Warrier’s re-examination are fake and accused it as a move to fill the evidence gap. However, the Supreme Court dismissed his plea and approved the survivor’s argument that the accused cannot determine who shall be examined.
The bench chaired by justice JK Maheshwari urged to wind up the trial soon and demanded to submit the progress report within March 24.
