Kochi: The High Court Vigilance has initiated a probe into the allegation that the visuals of the sexual attack on a Malayalam actor in 2017 were leaked from the court. DYSP Joseph Saju will lead the probe team.
The survivor of the attack had expressed concern over the matter and written to the Prime Minister, President and Chief Justices of Supreme Court and Kerala High Court seeking an inquiry into the allegation. The CJI handed over the letter to HC asking them to look into it. The HC Chief Justice also handed over the letter to the Vigilance Registrar.
The visuals are believed to be leaked when the case was transferred to the trial court from the court that initially considered it.
Meanwhile, actor Dileep, an accused in the sexual assault case, approached HC to quash the FIR in the conspiracy case against him. He has also sought to stop further probe in the assault case.
