Kochi: The Crime Branch has approached the Kerala High Court to quash the bail granted to actor Dileep in the actress attack case.
The petition states that the Crime Branch’s request was rejected by the trial court without proper examination of the evidence. The conditions set by the court when granting bail to Dileep were not to influence witnesses of the case or tamper with evidence.
In the petition filed, it states that it was found during further probe that Dileep influenced ten witnesses, including Vipin Lal, Dasan, Sagar Vincent, Dr Hyderali, Sarath Babu, and Jinson. The trial court rejected the plea to quash Dileep’s bail by pointing out that the prosecution was unable to produce ample evidence to show that Dileep had influenced the witnesses and tampered with the evidence.
