Actress attack case: Complainant moves HC seeking to transfer trial to another court


It is reported that the complainant actress has moved a petition in the HC alleging discriminatory action from the trial court.

Kochi: The complainant actress has approached the High Court requesting to transfer the trial in the actress attack case to another court. It is reported that the complainant actress has moved a petition in the HC alleging discriminatory action from the trial court.

As per the complaint, the additional special sessions court, where the trial in the case was progressing, has made lapses in recording the victim’s statement.

The actress also complained that though the defendant lawyer mentally tortured her the name of the hearing, the court did not question it.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered to complete the trial in the case and pronounce the verdict within January. Hence, it is assumed that the High Court will consider the petition of the actress soon.

Meanwhile, the prosecution has already moved a petition in the additional special sessions court seeking to adjourn further proceedings in the case. after receiving the petition from the prosecution, the trial court on October 16 adjourned the trial in the case and informed that the case will be shifted to another court.

In the petition, the prosecution raised sharp criticism against the trial court. The petition noted that a transparent trial and justice to the victim can no longer be expected from the trial court.
