Kochi: The Kerala high court slammed its critics and said no one shall make comments based on half-baked truths. The court was referring to the criticism on social media during the hearing of actor Dileep's anticipatory bail plea in the conspiracy case. The High Court observed that such criticisms were made by those who do not have a clear vision of the court proceedings.
In the bail order, the high court said that there was no clear evidence against Dileep. It also said that not presenting a phone does not amount to non-cooperation towards the probe.
The High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to six accused, including Dileep, in a case of conspiracy to assassinate probe officers of the 2017 sexual assault case. The court asked the accused to submit passports, present two sureties of Rs 1 lakh and cooperate with the investigation. It also warned against influencing witnesses. The High Court said that if the accused violated the bail conditions, the prosecution could approach the court for arrest.
Justice P Gopinath delivered the verdict.
