Dileep moves HC again, bail plea to be heard today

Kochi: A day after the Angamaly Magistrate Court denied bail to Dileep in the actress attack case, the actor on Tuesday approached the High Court for a third time seeking bail.

The bail application has been submitted through his counsel Raman Pillai. This is his fifth bail plea in 69 days since his arrest. The Angamaly court and the High Court had rejected his bail two times each.

His bail plea will be taken up for hearing at 1.45 pm today by a bench headed by Justice Sunil Thomas. Dileep has submitted 35-page bail petition.

Dileep was arrested on July 10 on charges of conspiracy in the actress attack case. He is entitled for statutory bail after 90 days of arrest.

However, if the probe team files charge sheet before this period, he may have to continue in jail until the completion of the trial. The investigators are planning to file the charge sheet before October 10.
