Dileep submits bail plea at Angamaly Court

Kochi: Actor Dileep, who has been lodged in Aluva sub-jail in connection with the actress attack case, on Thursday filed his bail application at Angamaly Magistrate Court.

The actor filed the plea citing he has completed 60 days in judicial custody and hence, is entitled to a statutory bail.

Earlier, it was assumed that Dileep will submit the bail plea at the High Court at a later date.

Earlier, the actor's bail plea was dismissed by the Angamaly Court and later by the High Court.

In his petition, Dileep sought bail on the grounds that the charge sheet has not been filed yet even as 60 days have passed in jail. The petition will be taken up for hearing on Saturday.

The actor, in his plea, submitted that the only charge against him was that he had demanded the assaulters to capture nude pictures of the actress. The petition further says that the investigation team has not found out any new details in this regard and that he should be granted bail at this juncture.

The actor has pledged to cooperate with the investigation completely.
