Kochi: Actor Dileep requested examining the mobile phone of DySP Baiju Paulose, who is the complainant in the murder conspiracy case against the actor in the actress abduction case. Dileep raised this demand in the reply letter to the notice sent by the Crime Branch wanting him to submit the old mobile phones. Crime Branch had found that the accused in the case, including Dileep, have changed their mobile phones after the murder conspiracy case surfaced against them.

Dileep claims that the mobile phones demanded by the Crime Branch were not those used between 2016- 2017, the period in which conspiracy took place according to Crime Branch. The phones used in this period was already submitted in court for forensic examination following arrest in 2017, informed Dileep.

Dileep said that he had started to use a new mobile phone only a few days back and it was bought in another person’s name. The other mobile phone is used for banking purposes only. The crime branch had demanded Dileep to produce his phone that he uses now.

He had called Balachandra Kumar from a third phone which he uses usually and it has been sent for forensic examination through his lawyer, Dileep asserted in the letter. He also added that this phone will be presented in court on time.

Dileep demanded to check the conversation between Baiju Paulose and Balachandra Kumar along with that of the talks between Kumar and director Vyasan Edavanakad and Adv Sajith. Dileep also urged the Crime Branch to examine the phone calls he had with Kumar.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch took the statement of Adv Sajith in relation to the murder conspiracy case. It was based on Balachandra Kumar’s statement that Adv Sajith had tried to influence him.

Adv Sajith allegedly reported to the Crime Branch that Kumar had told him that he intervened in obtaining bail for Dileep. The advocate handed over his Whatsapp chat with Kumar to Crime Branch.
