Kochi: The Crime Branch took the statement of actress Kavya Madhavan’s parents in connection with the actress attack case. The statement of her father Madhavan, mother Shyamala and Dileep’s sister Sabitha were recorded on Wednesday. The investigation team issued a notice prior to quizzing Kavya’s parents at her residence Padmasarovaram under the supervision of DySP Biju Paulose.

Crime Branch had already informed the High Court that Kavya’s response of not contacting director Balachandra Kumar was a lie. Meanwhile, the investigation team found that the SIM used for these calls was brought in the name of Kavya’s mother Shyamala.

In an interrogation held earlier, Kavya informed that she had not used this above-mentioned SIM card. However, the Crime Branch reported that Kavya had used the same SIM card to call Dileep before her marriage.

Sabitha was quizzed to obtain further information regarding the audio clip of the conversation between TN Suraj and Dileep’s friend Sarath G Nair. Kavya’s name was mentioned in many revelations of Balachandra Kumar and certain audio clips surfaced.

Kavya had an account and locker at a private bank in Panampilly Nagar when the attack against the actress happened in 2017. Her father’s statements were taken in view that the transactions were made with his support.
