Kochi: In the actress attack case, the Special Investigation Team submitted the report over the progress in the reinvestigation before the trial court here on Thursday. The report was presented by elucidating that the reprobe is only at an initial stage and the complete report cannot be produced soon.
Meanwhile, Dileep’s lawyer approached the court seeking a copy of the report submitted by the prosecution. The actor also requested the court to direct the police to hand over the digital evidence. However, the prosecution opposed these two demands and said that an accused in the case has no right to demand a copy of the report.
By dismissing the defendant's claim that the police might manipulate the digital evidence, the prosecution asserted that the evidence including video footage is safe with the investigating team.
The court will consider Dileep's petition with these two demands on January 25. The court also allowed the prosecution to produce 4 new witnesses for hearing in the case on January 22.
