Kochi: Kerala High Court on Tuesday has extended the time for further probe in the actress sexual assault case of 2017 to May 31. The DGP was asked to give assurance that the investigation will be finished within the allotted time. The court viewed that no further extension will be provided after May 31.

Earlier, the court directed the probe team to submit the report after completing the investigation before April 14. However, the investigation team requested more time for conducting a forensic examination of newly collected evidence. The high court dismissed the three months requested by the probe team.

Meantime, High Court has dismissed the petition filed by Dileep requesting quashing the FIR filed in connection with the conspiracy case. The court also allowed the crime branch to continue the probe and dismissed the demand for the case to be handed over CBI.
