Kozhikode: The accused in Kozhikode hotelier Siddique’s murder brought the electric cutter used to chop the body of the deceased and the trolley bag to transport parts after the murder, said police sources after the first round of questioning.
The staff of De Casa Inn hotel at Eranhipalam here, where the crime took place, had no idea what was happening in the rooms rented by Siddique. The staff did not bother to enquire whether he had checked out or not. They said he was a regular customer and there was nothing suspicious about any of the actions.

Occupants of neighbouring rooms or staff of shops on the ground floor of the building also had no clue what was happening until police arrived. Why hotel staff did not notice the blood on the floor is also mysterious.
Police said Siddique was murdered on May 18. His body was recovered on May 26 from Palakkad, based on the accused's statements.
Meanwhile, Gafoor, brother of one of the accused, Farhana, has been taken into police custody. This brings the total number of detainees to four.
Cherpulassery Vallapuzha native Shibili (22), a former employee of Siddique's hotel, and his friend K Khadijat Farhana (19) are the prime accused in the case. Their friend Muhammed Ashik (Chikku, 36) helped dispose of the body, police said.
The post-mortem report provides further insight into the perpetrators' method. It indicates that Siddique was fatally struck in the chest with a heavy object, resulting in a fractured rib. However, it remains unclear who removed the body from the hotel after the crime.
However, the weapons used in the crime have not yet been recovered.
On May 18, Siddique and the accused, Shibili and Farhana, booked rooms G03 and G04 at the De Casa Inn Hotel at Eranhipalam, Kozhikode.
The police initially assessed that Siddique was targeted for monetary reasons. Malappuram SP, Suraj Das, is expected to share details soon.
