Kochi: It is revealed that Muhammed Shafi, prime accused in the Elanthoor human sacrifice case, accepted Rs 6 lakh from couple Bagaval Singh and wife Laila.

Earlier, the probe team failed to find any details regarding the financial dealing between the couple and Shafi. However, during questioning, Shafi revealed that he received Rs 6 lakh from the couple.

Meanwhile, Shafi told police that he was looking for a third individual for the human sacrifice ritual following the killing of Padma, one of the two women murdered by the accused in Elanthoor.

At the same time, police are questioning all three accused in connection with the murder of Rosly. Ernakulam judicial magistrate court also dismissed the bail plea of Laila.

Two women, Kochi native Padma and Rosly of Kalady, were found butchered and buried in the couple's residence in Elanthoor. According to police, the women abducted from Ernakulam were taken to Thiruvalla and murdered. The incident came to light in a probe on a case lodged at Kadavanthra police station over a missing complaint on September 26.
