Moving car catches fire at Thamarassery


According to witnesses, the passengers stepped out of the car when they noticed smoke coming out of the bonnet.

Thamarassery: A moving car burst into flames near Chungam Check Post at around 3.30 am on Saturday. The vehicle has been completely gutted.

The eight occupants of the car managed to escape unhurt.

Two units of fire and rescue personnel from Mukkam Fire station reached the spot to douse the fire. A lorry which was parked near the car also caught fire.

Rijinas, Shafi, Najas, Dishaf, Nasif, Salman, Rashid and Ameen from Cheruvadi in Mukkam were travelling in the car.

The incident occurred while the people were returning from Korangadu Mosque.

According to witnesses, the passengers immediately stepped out of the car when they noticed smoke coming out of the bonnet.
