Kollam: The driver of a van died after the vehicle collided with a private bus on the National Highway 66 at Marialayam junction in Sakthikulangara here on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Pushpan, a native of Eloor. It is reported that several people were injured in the accident.
The injured were shifted to a hospital. The driver of the van died on the spot.
The van driven by Pushpan was travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Alappuzha when it collided with a private bus coming from Chavara. Witnesses said the private bus collided with the van while it was overtaking another vehicle. This is also evident in the CCTV footage from the vicinity.
