Kochi: Metroman E Sreedharan said Tuesday that it is not honourable to accept foreign aid for relief work in Kerala.
He demanded that an autonomous committee should be formed for building a new Kerala.
"The faults in weather prediction is the main reason behind the disaster. There wasn’t any need to save water in the dam. People have lost trust in the weather predictions as it had often gone wrong. Hence, the warning of heavy rain was not taken seriously. The dams would have been opened if the Met department was able to predict about continuous rains for 15 days, Sreedharan told mediapersons.
