Thrissur: Minister AC Moideen raised sharp criticism against MLA Anil Akkara after UDF, which triggered a controversy over Life Mission Housing project, failed to win votes in the LSG polls.
“People vote for the party which assures houses for all, not to those who block it,” said Moideen, giving a befitting reply to Wadakancherry MLA Anil Akkara.
The minister was addressing the media here on Friday.
“The MLA had cast allegations against Wadakancherry Life Mission Housing Project. He levelled baseless allegations over the project. 2.5 lakh people got houses under the Life Mission Project. A total of 1600 people in Wadakancherry was benefited by the project. The public knew that they should stand with the government who took effort to help the homeless people. Life Mission has planned to complete work of 140 houses by December. But the MLA has raised a complaint against the project and BJP also joined him with baseless allegations. As the CBI probe is ordered on the project, the work is being interrupted. The public is disappointed with such political games. The people in Wadakancherry has vowed that they would cast vote for only those who assure house to them,” added AC Moideen.
He condemned Anil Akkara for raising allegations against the government by ignoring the development of his constituency.
