ABVP- SFI clash in Kerala Varma College over seminar on CAA
Thrissur: ABVP members of Thrissur Kerala Varma College were beaten up by SFI activists for conducting a seminar supporting the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act. The incident happened Wednesday morning at 9.30 a.m. Three ABVP members were taken to a private hospital in Thrissur with serious injuries.
ABVP had tried to organise a seminar the other day supporting CAA. But this was interrupted by the SFI members. Later, ABVP had to organise a seminar outside the campus, by the roadside. They also called for a strike today in the college protesting against the denial of permission to hold seminar. The trouble broke out once the ABVP members entered the classrooms and asked for students to take part in the strike. SFI members dragged their ABVP counterparts from their classrooms and started attacking them. The girls who tried to separate the two groups were also injured in the attack. Visuals of the attack have been released.
Accusations were levelled against SFI members including their former chairman. ABVP organised a strike inside the college protesting against the incident.
