Abdul Wahab committed mistake during triple talaq bill discussion: Sayyid Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal
Kozhikode: Muslim Youth League national vice president Panakkad Sayyid Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal said that Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) MP P. V. Abdul Wahab did not participate productively during the triple talaq bill discussion in the Rajya Sabha.
Stating that people are unable to fulfil duties entrusted upon them, Sayyid Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal added that IUML had several leaders capable of performing their duties.
“P. V. Abdul Wahab made a huge mistake. If he has difficulties, he must step aside for others. It will be a model for others to follow,” said Sayyid Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal son of Panakkad Sayyid Hyderali Shihab Thangal.
However, it is learned that Sayyid Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal’s opinion is not supported by other leaders of the party.
During the triple talaq bill discussion in the Rajya Sabha, P. V. Abdul Wahab, the lone Muslim League MP, did not get a chance to speak. When his name was called out, Abdul Wahab was not present in his seat.
On coming back, Abdul Wahab approached the Speaker seeking another chance to deliver his speech but in vain. During the triple talaq bill discussion, Abdul Wahab MP was not present in his seat for a long time. Both the IUML and Muslim Youth League had strongly objected to this.
